In late September, the coordinators of our ministry went on retreat with one of our priest, Father Johnathon Raia. We took this time to get away and discern the direction of our ministry. Over the past weeks since our retreat, we have continued that discernment of where God is leading us.
One of our biggest priorities is to place our work in His hands and never to make it about us. Whenever a ministry fosters a community that is more into itself than God, it has lost its direction. We will continue to strive to provide a community and resources that educate other about Jesus and His Church, nurture a community of faithful young adult Catholic Christians, and practice the traditions of our faith to have a full experience of Christ in our lives.
We believe that the growth experienced in our young ministry has been led by the Holy Spirit. As we approach our first year anniversary this coming January 2011, we ask for your continued prayers for support and guidance. We also thank you for all the support and prayers you all have given. There are still many more young Catholics in their 20′s and 30′s that we hope to reach.
Within the next month we will be narrowing down our patrons for our ministry. Let us know if you have any great saints you would like us to consider.
We are very interested in any feedback that you might have for us about our events, new media ministry, or anything else that we do. You are always welcome to email us at info@wilcoya or leave us a message at (512) 827-WCYA.
